Bridal Shower Cookies

A couple of months ago a good friend of mine got engaged. When she called to tell me the great news she also asked me for a huge favor. The huge favor was to make her some cookies for her bridal shower. I immediatley asked her if she had anything in mind and she said no that she would leave it up to me. Her only request was the colors, she wanted the colors to be light pink and light green. As soon as we hung up I started thinking of different ideas and things that she really likes. But I really wanted to do something that really represented the bride after all it was her special day. Then it suddenly came to mind how much she loves shoes and flowers and that’s how I came up with my design.

How to make bridal shower shoe cookies:

1- Bake and cool your cookies

2- Prepare the royal icing and color it pink
3- Then you outline your cookies with pink royal icing

4- Next you flood your cookies with pink royal icing

5- After you finish flooding your cookies you will have to wait 24 hours to let them dry. In the mean time I tinted white fondant in a light green and I cut out the flowers I was going to use on the cookies. I also have to let my fondant flowers dry over night as well.
6- The next day I got some luster dust in light green and some vodka mix those two together and brush the flowers to give them a little sparkle.
7- Leave the flowers to dry for about 30 minutes and they are ready to be applied to the cookie shoe.
8- Finally use a small amount of royal icing to secure the flowers and let it dry over night as well.
